We don’t chase mass production or shortcuts. Instead, we honor tradition, quality, and the art of cigar making. Alongside my trusted partner Ruth De Leon, we pour our hearts into each cigar, because we believe that every draw should tell a story—one of passion, patience, and pride.

The Story
In 1998, the tale unfolds in El Cortecito, a quaint fishing village nestled on the Eastern shores of the Dominican Republic. Within this hamlet resided a modest cigar store where one could savor a cigar while witnessing the intricate art of cigar crafting, observing the careful assembly of leaves.
Fast forward to 2001 when the Manufactory came to life, birthed by Ruth De Leon Sosa and her husband, Sylvio Buchschatz, hailing from Germany. Their vision? To craft cigars of unparalleled quality, catering exclusively to a discerning clientele. With a deliberately limited yearly output, De Leon stands as the epitome of exquisite Boutique Cigars.

In my quest for top-notch leaf quality, I've had the pleasure of connecting with some of the Dominican Republic's most innovative premium tobacco growers!
While many cigar producers in the Dominican Republic seek tobacco leaves beyond its borders, our focus remains primarily on utilizing tobacco sourced from within the country. Through our dedicated efforts, we've gained access to a diverse selection of six distinct tobacco types. From the filler to the binder, and finally, the exquisite Dominican wrapper—many of these variations originate from Cuban seeds.
This exclusive blend of tobaccos distinguishes our cigars from the majority of Dominican offerings.
